Florida's Best Spring Break Destinations

Panama City Beach- There is nothing like the beautiful white sand beaches and emerald green water of Panama City Beach. The list is long for all of the different water sports available here, for instance; riding the waves on a jet-ski, taking a kayak or canoe to the bay or lagoon, checking out the underwater life (tropical fish to Manta Rays) by scuba diving or snorkeling, get some surfing in when the conditions are good, go kite boarding (also called kite surfing), skim boarding is also popular and stand-up paddle surfing. Arrangements can also be made for dolphin tours, sailing and even fishing boat charters.

There are many hotels, condominium properties and mega-nightclubs that populate the beach. There are several places to go in the evening like the Red Door Saloon for great food, fun bartenders, good drinks and fabulous atmosphere. Schooners, “the last local beach club” is open almost 24/7. They serve a great lunch and dinner, but it is best known for its live music where they play just about everything including Jimmy Buffet, ZZ Top, Otis Redding, party music old & new, rock, dance music and great beach music in a perfect beach setting. The Coyote Ugly Saloon claims they have the most famous bar in the world. When you’re hungry, try Hook’s Grille & Grog that features Caribbean cuisine for lunch and dinner. They have an open-air covered patio overlooking the lagoon where you can listen to live music in the evening while watching the beautiful sunsets.

South Beach, Miami is the perfect example of a sun-splashed playground for spring breakers. This fabulous sprawling party capital is a combination of sun, sand and destination for pleasure seekers. When the sun sets, there are extremely cool lounges and nightclubs where you can party. DJs roll out the tunes pretty much 24/7, whether it is at a bar, club, lounge, or by a hotel, you can jam out with all of your hot friends.

During the day, enjoy the balmy dry weather on gorgeous white sandy beaches filled with palm trees and pristine blue waters. Miami is a city of sun with over 300 days of it a year. The weather is perfect all year long with an average of low to mid 80s and water temperature in high 70s to low 80s during spring break.

If you’re on a specific budget try the hotels that offer a free continental breakfast. For other meals, go off the beach area to 7th and 11th and Washington where food such as pizza by the slice, pita sandwiches or Mexican is very reasonably priced. Not only is staying hydrated with lots of water a good idea, but it will also save you lots of cash because soft drinks will cost $2-$5 a glass at a restaurant.

SoBe has much to offer with its stunning shorelines and warm ocean; making it a water and land Mecca for all sorts of fun activities. South Beach is full of companies that rent out jet skis, canoes/kayaks and many other water toys. There are a lot of different means of public transportation making it very easy to get from place to place. Check out the nearby amusement parks, zoos, aquariums or take a tour of the Everglades.

The hot nightlife scene in South Beach is famous; from its clubs and bars to comedy clubs to outdoor dance clubs with live music. Shoes and a shirt will be required in most establishments; however, the patio restaurants and beachside bars do not have those requirements. The nightclubs do have dress codes that are strictly adhered to. They are also strict on girl to guy ratio, so make sure you have lots of hot girls. Money is important, so bring lots of it! Those atm charges can be ridiculous on the beach. A side note is to check out cooljunkie.com or other Miami nightlife sites and try to sign up with clubs because you can get passes to get in for free before a certain time. Have fun and rock on!
