Resorts in Mexico | Best Places to Get a Suntan in Mexico

The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is located just 26 miles from Puerto Vallarta on 26 acres of immaculate, unspoiled white sand beaches with the blue turquoise of the Pacific Ocean. The accommodations include 173 guest rooms which include the 32 suites that are styled in tile roofed Mexican casitas.

All rooms include a furnished terrace or balcony facing the ocean and the mountains surrounding Punta Mita. All rooms have modern technology; along with fans and air conditioning and personal comfort items. A visit to The Apuane (“healing waters”) Spa is in order to leave all your worries and cares behind. Centered in this very unique spa is an open-sun very tranquil courtyard area.

Try the healing waters treatment under a multi-head shower while two therapists work together to massage away the stress. The fitness center has been renovated to over 3,000 square feet and is equipped with all new state-of-the-art equipment. The poolside cabanas also allow guests to enjoy spa treatments any time of the day. The Bahia (“bay”) restaurant is a beachfront grill fashioned in a relaxed contemporary design and is positioned perfectly to gather all of the cool ocean breezes and spectacular views of the sunset. The menu ranges from seafood to meats that are cooked on a mesquite grill that all guests see from their tables.

The Pacifico Golf Course is a Jack Nicklaus design and is set within the very scenic views of the beaches and the mountains on approximately 200 acres. In fact, eight holes border the Banderas Bay or Pacific Ocean and during the seasonal migration of the whales one can actually catch glimpses of them. The landscaping of palm and flowering trees make this a delightfully beautiful golf course. This is not just any golf course however; because in June 2008, Conde Nast Traveler’s readers named this number one in the world!

The tennis center has ten courts, locker, full pro shop and a tennis program. The resort offers deep sea fishing, scuba diving and whale-watching. The Banderas Bay coastline is a wonderful place for diving and snorkeling. Find yourself catching a few sunrays on the beach for that perfect tan, walk along the beach or take a historical tour.

Great suntans are wonderful, so take the necessary precautions to get that suntan you want and not the awful burn. Wear your hats and Vuarnat sunglasses and put on your Banana Boat suntan lotion as directed on the label. Have a wonderful time - they have much to offer at Punta Mita.

Resorts in Tulum, Mexico, a Year Round Suntan World

Tulum, Mexico is a year-round sun worshipers’ paradise retreat. Tulum is located on the east coast of the Yucatan peninsula on the Caribbean coast and is one of nine municipalities that are a part of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Known for its laid-back atmosphere, gentle aqua waters, and large stretches of pristine white sand beaches, Tulum’s temperature rarely gets below 70 degrees.

Spend a lazy day on the beach under the beautiful sun or take a nap at one of two quaint hotels, the Zamas or the Hemingway, where they have nice clean bungalows. Tucked in between the palm trees are hammocks made for a great snooze. The seaside rooms can be booked for less than $200.

The Hotel Blue Tulum Golf & Spa is a deluxe resort that is just a five minute walk from the ancient Mayan Pyramids, thirty minutes from Playa del Carmen, thirty minutes from Playacar Golf Club, and twenty minutes from Puerto Aventuras (another resort & spa). The Hotel Blue Tulum has a breathtaking view of the Caribbean and boasts of extra high standards of services. They serve all kinds of cocktails and natural drinks while you spend a relaxing time in the spa/wellness centre. If you choose the all-inclusive plan, the meals, beverages, taxes and tips are all included. The resort has seventy-two suites decorated in a Mediterranean/Mexican style. The entire property is air conditioned and non-smoking. They offer bike rentals, limousine service, baby sitters, children’s mini club, children’s outdoor play area, restaurants, pools and so much more. The prices are $531 a night and up.

Not far from the city central are dozens of clear cave pools that are perfect for children to experience snorkeling adventures. The Mayan ruins are also a great place to explore. The ruins on located on a forty-foot cliff so there is definitely a good walk ahead of you. You might even get to see an iguana or two sunbathing on rocks along the way.

There is a very unusual ceremonial dance practiced in Tulum called the Flying Men Dance. This is something you will not want to miss should you have the opportunity. The men are dressed in traditional clothing and perform on top of a hundred foot pole. One man is at the very top and plays the drums and other instruments while the other four spin around with ropes tied around them. These four men jump at a spiral slowly down the pole with the music. Lots of fun to watch!

As always: keep hydrated, use an appropriate SPF sunscreen, and wear sunglasses, hats, and UV-protective clothing while enjoying your next vacation, wherever it leads you to.
