The Nimmo Bay Resort is located at the foot of Mount Stevens along the Great Bear Rainforest coastline. This intriguing resort is famous for its luxury wilderness adventure tours for over 25 years. There are several exciting ways to get to the resort.

The first choice could be by flying into the Vancouver airport by commercial carrier and arrive by 3:00 p.m. to catch Pacific Coastal Airlines which departs for Port Hardy and Nimmo Bay about 5:00 p.m. The next choice could be by allowing the resort to make your reservations for you if you have Booked a Heli-Fishing or Heli-Venture trip, you will fly to Port Hardy and one of the resort’s helicopters will transport you. Perhaps you have your own private aircraft that you fly into Port Hardy’s 5,000 foot runway or a float airplane can be flown into Nimmo Bay and secured there. There’s always the seven hour drive which includes both your car and the ferry from Vancouver.

The Murray family who owns this luxurious resort presents only the finest class of hospitality to each one of their guests. The helicopter adventure tours are tailor made for you. Heli-fishing is a fisherman’s dream come true! If you’ve ever wondered what to give a fisherman who already has everything – this is it! The luxury helicopter will fly guests to a very beautiful and productive location from dozens of different choices and whether it’s spin fishing or fly fishing, it will be a lifetime experience exceeding all expectations.

Heli-Ventures can also be custom designed for your family, a group of friends or even a corporate trip for an action packed adventure. The trip could include learning new outdoor skills or taking part in a new thrilling sport. Watch eagles, sea lions, seals, Blue Herons and otters from your tour guided kayak.

Experience a walk through a forest that takes you to a limestone cave system. The private helicopter can fly you off to the white sand beaches of the Pacific Ocean to have lunch and let your body absorb the beautiful sun rays of the day. Control a raft while drifting down pristine glacial waters. The accommodations are chalets with all the comfort you might expect and fabulous panoramic views of this unspoiled wilderness.

Sit back and relax while you refresh yourself in the waterfall hot tubs or play some billiards in the Lodge. The floating Main Lodge is where the meals are served on custom walnut dining tables surrounded by beautiful leather couches, musical instruments and artwork. I don’t know about you, but I’m running for the calendar and then calling to make my reservations as soon as possible! Yowee – what a dream of a lifetime!

The Four Seasons Resort Whistler is home to the Coast Mountains, namely Whistler and Blackcomb in beautiful British Columbia. The drive from Vancouver Airport is about two hours and ten minutes. Guests can charter helicopter flights in the winter or summer and take a taxi to the resort from there.

A Four Seasons Resort car can also meet guests at the heliport. In the summer Whistler Air Services is scheduled with their float plane twice a day from downtown Vancouver to Whistler. It’s a thirty minute trip that is very enjoyable and flies over the Lions Gate Bridge past Garibaldi Park.  Known as North America’s best ski mountains for many years, these mountains are a majestic backdrop for the Four Seasons.

The Four Seasons has grand hotels all over the world and this one does anything but fall short of their reputation. The warm summer months bring wonderful outdoor dining on the spacious fireplace heated patio. The local legend, Guitar Doug of the Hairfarmers, will have all the guests dancing and Ali Milner will be in the spotlight sharing some great music for you. Winter rolls out a romantic setting which means it’s time for the s'mores by the fire pit.

There are endless activities to be had in the warmer weather including fishing, golfing, rock-climbing and wilderness canoe tours. Located just about two miles from the resort is a Jack Nicklaus Golf Course that has spectacular views of the snow on the mountain peaks, an emerald lake and beautiful fir trees. Fifty Two 80 is a number of feet that can be skied on Blackcomb Mountain’s vertical mile, but it’s also the name of Four Season’s dining establishment.

The restaurant is decorated in stunning earth tones with wood interior and has a very cozy open fire to enjoy during any of the three meals. There’s a great selection of British Columbia wines to add to your meal prepared from Pacific Northwest ingredients with the local produce. Save some room for a special treat on the dessert menu consisting of items from their own pastry shop.

In the warmer months get your suntan by swimming in the year round fully heated pool with three nearby whirlpools or lounging in one of the chairs or relax in one of thirty cabanas. The waiters will serve you Évian spritzers, fresh fruit, chilled water and cooled towels. The views from the pool area of the mountains are very enjoyable.

The health club in the Spa gives their guests a complimentary “virtual workout”. Afterwards, replenish yourself by relaxing in the outdoor pool and whirlpool or visiting the eucalyptus steam room.

The yearly average of snowfall is about thirty feet. The two mountains have over 200 marked trails for fabulous skiing but there’s also great snowshoeing, sleigh rides, skating and glacier skiing available. In the warmer weather try your hand at mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and rafting or championship golf. Remember that it is just as important to protect yourself in the sun here as much as you do in the southern parts of North America.

Additionally, make sure you pack your Burt’s Bees Chap Stick because your lips will probably get dry and chapped. Just a short walk from the resort is bear viewing and mountain ecology tours, Whistler Eco tours, or a full day excursion of snowmobiling or a helicopter tour. Need a break from all the activities? Whistler has appealing and friendly destinations also including international dining, outstanding shopping and a great many choices of cultural and entertainment entities.
