MARINAS - NEW JERSEY

Liberty Landing Marina is located on the lower Hudson River; this well established marina provides an array of services for boaters in the area. Reservations for slips are easily procured from their website. Any finish or mechanical work is welcomed and no job is too big or too small. This is also where you catch Statue Cruises to go see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty! Parking fees are about $5.00 a day, if not coming by sea.
Writer’s note: The Liberty House Restaurant is close to Liberty State Park and the perfect place to have brunch! Try their famous Double Banana Pancakes, Eggs Benedict or Lobster Crepes. This one of a kind New Jersey restaurant and banquet facility is surrounded by water on three sides, affording stunning views of Manhattan and Lady Liberty, herself.

Silver Cloud Harbor Marina is a full-service marina on the famous Forked River with 91 Slips (up to 65’ long) in a beautiful protected harbor. They have a recreation area with pool, Certified Marine Technicians on staff, a Ship’s Store and restroom & shower facilities. Within walking distance are other restaurants, stores, bed & breakfasts and a Laundromat.

Writer's note: Island Beach State Park is close by and with over 10 miles of sandy shoreline along the bay; this is a sun tanner’s paradise! Rolling sand dunes, tidal marshes and home to hundreds of species of plants and wildlife, this is a ‘not to miss’ spot. The southernmost tip of the state park borders the inlet and offers spectacular views of Barnegat Lighthouse.

Main One Marina is perfectly located, about ½ mile from the ocean and Main One has been serving the boating community in New Jersey’s Shark River Inlet Area since 1978. Adelaide (Scottie), RT, Bill, Mark & the marina’s mascot, Jamie (a beautiful black lab), are all there to assist you with your boating needs. Other vital amenities include: Certified Marine Technicians, clean restrooms and showers, bait and ice, a dockside dive shop and a 15 ton Travelift.

Writer’s note: The Avon beach is open year round with lifeguards working on weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Parking is free and Beach badges (passes) are required for the summer months and cost $8.00 a day. There is no charge for ages 11 and under. No plastic is accepted; the booths where you buy beach badges only take cash or checks!
