Lakeport Landing Marina is a complete boating facility featuring new and used Formula boats for sale, such as Cruiser and Bowrider. Amenities include 145 boat slips, a launch ramp with free parking, valet service, gas dock with marine head pump-out facility, a ships store for all your boating needs and great access to local stores and restaurants.

Writer’s note: Weir’s Beach (or "The Weirs" as it is referred to by locals) is a village within the town of Laconia. This wide, sandy, public beach on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee is THE spot to suntan in New Hampshire! The pier extends out from the main boulevard and was constructed in 1925. The area also boasts a water slide, a drive-in movie theater, the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, and several motels and cottages for rent. At Endicott Rock Park, the Beach and Bathhouse hours are from 9am or 10am until 5pm, weather permitting, from June through September or Labor Day.

Melvin Village Marina is family-owned and has been serving the boaters on Lake Winnipesaukee for over 25 years! Melvin Village is on Rte. 109 (Governor Wentworth Highway), 9.5 miles north of Wolfeboro. Don’t blink if you are coming in by car! This customer-service oriented facility is comprised of 80 slips and has boats available for rental. Daily rentals are on a first come basis and based on availability. A NASBLA approved license is required and you can get a temporary here. One thing part-time boaters often forget, insurance is not provided make sure you make appropriate arrangements! If for some reason you are in need of repair, their service & parts department is well-stocked with one of the largest inventories in the area, specializing in Volvo, OMC, Mercury and Honda parts and accessories.

Writer’s note: My favorite spot in this lakes area is Wolfetrap in Wolfesboro, just about 10 miles south from Melvin Village. By boat, look for the big red lobster on the roof. They have THE best seafood around! I love to eat outside, on the sundeck. Their lobster rolls are to die for and if I’m feeling like I really have to overindulge, I get the “Mad Fisherman”, a combo dinner platter with all the seafood (fried) and a mug of chowder. You can even get ready for the oven gourmet platters (even the seasonings are included) to go.

Wentworth by the Sea Marina is cuddled up to the sea coast and upon entering Little Harbor you can immediately identify the Wentworth Hotel’s famous red roof. Their attentive staff will help you with anything from dinner reservations to refueling. Wonderful amenities abound such as: On-site restaurants, heated pool (fee), tennis courts, concierge services, showers, coin-operated laundry, TV, telephone & electric hookups, ice, bait, Wi-Fi (fee) and even car rentals. They have 170 slips and can accommodate vessels up to 200 feet.

Writer’s note: As with all boat trips it is recommended to always plan out your stops! Here it is prudent to time your arrival with slack tides. If you are not familiar with the sharp current inside Little Harbor, it can be a challenging event.
