Tasmania Island is the other side of the equator so their summers are our winter and vice versa. They start warming up in September with daytime highs are in the 70’s and lows in the 50’s.

Two airports serve this island but Hobart International is the larger so catch Quantas or Virgin Blue from Australia’s mainland. Rent your cars from Europcar, Redspot or the U.S. familiars. You might want to check into the See Tasmania SmartVisit Card which gives you admission into over 60 attractions, special offers and a comprehensive guide.

Swansea, a beach area on the east coast, is a fun and sun spot to use as home base. Innkeepers Swansea Beach Chalets have 2-bedroom cabins overlooking the Freycinet National Park and Great Oyster Bay. Head for the beach and in one direction you can walk into Swansea, the other way leads to the Freycinet Peninsular.

Sunbathe on the beach or by the pool, keep the tanning lotion, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and a UV cover up handy. Check out Wineglass Bay with gorgeous white sand and heavenly blue water. Kayaking, fishing, boating, rock climbing and hiking are all available right here.
